IndoxylDesigns (the original name of this website) wasn’t such a great idea for a brand/domain name because it’s hard to remember and hard to communicate to someone verbally. So, I decided to start looking for a new, more effective name for my website. In order to pick a good name there were too main factors I had to consider: memorability and communicability.

Both of these could be first achieved through picking a relatively short name (3-8 characters). I decided to go with the Latin word "faber - skillful; ingenious;" which I feel were representative of me and my work. After appending “designs” to the name to emphasize the fact that the website has something to do with designing, I ended up with “Faber Designs”. The name is both short (memorability) and the pronunciation is quite unambiguous (communicability). So remember, keep it short, memorable, and easy to communicate.
